No, ImageMixer 3.14 is not compatible with the Windows 10 operating system. According to the system requirements found on various websites, you can install ImageMixer 3.14 on Windows 98, NT, 2K, ME, XP, 95, and Windows Vista.
If you still have the installation package you could try to run it, but I doubt it would run even you apply a compatibility tweak for the main package.
You can upgrade the application through the website listed below. This is the only place you can obtain updated to the ImageMixer application because no other website provides them. Secondly, the software is bundled with various devices which means it's impossible for me to download the main application to update it.
Since the application is compatible only with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows XP and Windows Vista, you can try to download and install Windows XP Mode and install the application in this environment. Windows XP Mode makes it easy to install and run many applications compatible with Windows XP directly on a Windows 7 computer. Also, in order to run the application on your computer, you can use Windows 7 Compatibility Mode.
Is there a free download available, baring in mind I am the original owner of the camera but lost the PC driver (Pixela) CD-ROM that came with it?

Please use the Support page and identify your product. You will find all the related drivers and software applications for your camera under the Downloads category. ImageMixer 1.5 is the version that is used for Sony imaging products.
Due to system crash, I had to reinstall Pixela ImageMIXER ver. 1.0. Installation is OK but each time I boot the system, I get the following message: "Could not load required DLL file SONYPVP2.DLL". Could not find that file on my system or on the original Pixela disk. How do I fix it?

The DLL file is from the SONY Digital Network applications. You need to use the official website to obtain any other files. You need to contact the developers in order to fix this issue.
You computer should be equipped with a quad-core CPU from the new generation, a capable video card with dedicated memory (DDR3 or GDDR5 is a must), enough RAM (triple channel DDR3 is also recommended) and an SSD to process the data faster. I would like to recommend you Intel for these type of jobs and nVidia as manufacturer for the graphic card.
This is bundled software. It means that it cannot be downloaded from its official website. The only links available point to updates of the program. You can obtain this app from someone who owns a compatible device with this software bundled.
I have the Canon FS 100. Great camera. Lousy bundled program -the ImageMixer 3 SE for SD .
I have had nothing but problems with this program. It either won't load, or when it does, doesn't execute the commands from the menu. On the few occasions that it does work, it is slower than molasses running uphill in January, and that's with 2 G of RAM.
I don't recommend that anyone use it. Since it's bundled, I am sure Image Mixer doesn't care. Hopefully Canon does.
If anyone has any suggestions, please advise.

The application you mentioned is bundled with Canon camcorders. For Sony there is Picture Motion Browser as the default software. You will need that software instead of Pixela.
This application allows you to create covers for your CD/DVD. It does not have the possibility to edit video and audio content. You can mute the video or lower it with another application.
